License Testing

If you are not a licensed amateur radio operator and are curious to learn about amateur radio, click this link for information!

Volunteer Examiners certified by the American Radio Relay League administer periodic license examinations. Resulting licenses and upgrades are issued by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

Testing is held the second Saturday of each odd calendar month at 10:00AM at the Family Dentistry Building in Snead, located at 88223 US Hwy 278.

We also conduct testing during our ARRL Field Day exercise and during the FreezeFest event.   The ARRL fee for testing is $15.00.

Applicants must make arrangements for testing in advance (no walk-ins).  Please contact Jerry, WB4OWC (wb4owc@charter.net), VE Liaison, prior to your desired exam date, to schedule your test and get any additional requirements.

Click here to read the ARRL's instructions for registering with the FCC, and for more information on what to bring to the testing session.
