Mark your calendars for the Blount County Amateur Radio Club's 2027 Freezefest! The event
is tentatively scheduled for
Saturday, January 2, from 8AM to Noon at the Locust Fork High School located at 77 School Road (@ Hwy 79) in Locust Fork, Alabama 35097.
Admission will be $5.00. Vendor/dealer setup is at 7AM, doors open to the public at 8AM. Tables and Bone Yard are free! Raffle tickets will be on sale to win hourly door prizes and a Grand Prize. Tickets are $1 each, $10 for 12 tickets, and $20 for 25 tickets. Volunteer Examiners will conduct license testing at 10AM. The ARRL fee for testing is $15.00. Applicants must make arrangements for testing in advance of the event. Please contact Phillip KQ4ETC, VE Liaison, prior to Freezefest to schedule your test and get any additional requirements. We will take walk-ins for testing, but all testees need an FRN number, even ones that are testing for the first time. Instructions for getting an FRN can be found here. Pre-registration for testing can be done at Hamstudy.org Please join us for what is always a good time for deals and fellowship. As always, the BCARC appreciates any donations to help us maintain our VHF repeater (146.700, - offset with 91.5 tone) and UHF repeater (443.775). Please join us on the BCARC open net every Sunday night at 8PM. |
